Beth is a new artist in town with over 30 years of bookbinding and printmaking experience. Beth Thielen's work and the work of her students are represented in the Getty Museum of Art, the Hammer Museum of Art, the Library of Congress Special Collections, the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, Houghton Library at Harvard, Yale University, the Spencer Collection at the New York Public Library, as well as other important public and private collections. She is the recipient of awards from the Puffin Foundation, the Kalliopeia Foundation and is a Blue Mountain Center and Rauschenberg residency fellow.
Making a Traditional Hardcover Book. The hardcover book we are most familiar with is called a Case Binding. In this class we will learn to sew sections onto tapes, tip on endpapers and learn how to encase the sewn sections into hardcover boards wrapped in book cloth and paper. All materials provided. This is a wonderful book for journaling or sketching!

Most classes are limited to 8-12 people depending on the class.
We have sanitizing stations at the front of the store.
Our restrooms are not open to the public, but open for students.
Allard's Art Class Policy:
First come, first served!
You must register & prepay for the class in advance, as seating is limited.
You may sign-up in store, online, or by calling 559-225-1500.
Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of your class for signing in and setting up.
When classes start at 10am on Saturdays, we will open for you at 9:50am.

Class Cancellation Policy:
Allard’s Art reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances.
If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, participants will be notified via their provided phone number and/or email with as much notice as possible and a full refund will be given.
If a make-up class or future date is offered, you will be given the option to register for the future date in lieu of a refund.
Cancellations or class transfers by the participant must be made at least 48 hours before the start of the class for a full refund or transfer.
No refunds will be given for “no call, no-shows” or a late cancellation. Once the class is in session, we will not offer a refund or transfer.
